Carroll County Democratic Caucus
Get involved in shaping the future of the Democratic Party in Carroll County.
Date: Monday, February 2, 2026
Time: 7:00 p.m. (Doors open at 6:00 p.m.) You must be in line by 7:00 p.m. to participate.
Length: Approximately 1–2 hours
Location: First United Methodist Church, 1621 N. Main Street, Carroll, Iowa (All county precincts will meet at this single location.)
Purpose: The local Democratic Caucus is your opportunity to participate directly in the Democratic process. Caucuses allow community members to learn about and engage with the local party’s structure, platform, and upcoming events, while helping Democrats get elected at the local, state, and national levels.
Who Can Participate
Anyone who is 17 years old but will be 18 on or before November 3, 2026, is eligible to participate.
You may attend and participate if you:
- Are eligible to vote, and
- Are a registered Democrat
You may register to vote and/or register as a Democrat at the caucus if you have not already done so.
Voter registration requirements:
- 18 years old by Election Day (November 3, 2026)
- U.S. citizen
- Iowa resident

What to Expect
The caucus begins with a large-group meeting for all attendees. Local party leaders will share updates on local and state plans and explain the caucus process.
Participants will then break into precinct meetings, where they will:
- Elect three (3) Central Committee members
- Select delegates to the County Convention
- Draft and discuss resolutions brought forward by attendees
- Choose volunteers for party committees, including:
- Platform Committee
- Committee on Committees
- Collect signatures for candidates’ nomination petitions
